What Millennials Really Think of Business Leadership

Millennials will make up half of the global workforce by 2020. Did you know that more than seven out of ten of them believe that business has a positive impact on wider society? They believe that the business leaders of today are too caught up in their own agendas to see the world around them and the impact that business can have if applied in a positive way. 37% of Millennials believe that employee well-being is the most valuable thing that leaders should consider and they go one step further again with 27% even believing that their leaders should make positive contributions to the society and the local community that they reside and work in.

The top traits that are of most value to Millennials and what they actively seek out in their leaders include strategic thinking, followed very closely by being inspirational, and having a strong interpersonal skillset. The TMT sector is the area of business that Millennials believe has the best leadership at present. As a result, it is not surprising that the companies that resonate the most with Millennials as leading the business leadership debate include; Google, Apple, Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Samsung.
