Updating Your Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for Today's Workplaces
Work organizations and workers have identified increased awareness and prevention of sexual harassment and disrespectful behavior as a priority in today’s multi-gender, multi-generational workforce. Conventional prevention and awareness efforts have been inadequate to transform our workplaces into zones of respectful treatment and opportunity for all. Calls for heightened efforts have resulted in the passage and implementation of new laws and spurred organizational policy reviews, and additional measures are on the way. As more victims speak out about their allegations, organizations must update their sexual harassment training and reporting systems. To meet this challenge, new approaches with a comprehensive focus to change workplace norms, organizational culture, and standards of worksite interactions are needed. This presentation will review ideas and methods that not only increase awareness of respectful workplace standards, but also have a meaningful impact on both individual conduct and collective comportment across work groups.
