The Professional Accomplishments and Charitable Work of Joseph Federico of NJ
Joseph Federico of NJ has a long career at NJ Micro Electronic Testing, Inc. He joined the company in 1978. He attended the Metropolitan Technical Institute and obtained his associate’s degree, then entered Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering technology. He strives for excellence and efficiency in everything he does in his capacity as Vice President and Director of Operations at NJMET. Instrumental to his leadership role was his work to co-develop the military and aerospace reliability department at the company.
Professional Accomplishments
An important career milestone for Joseph was the development and patenting of his Mission: Imposter system. This electronic component testing regimen includes a variety of physical, chemical, metallurgical, and electronic tests designed to identify counterfeit and cloned electronic components. Counterfeiting is a major problem in electronic product manufacturing, as unwary manufacturers may be duped into purchasing subpar or counterfeit components that can cause injuries to end users and impact product quality. The Mission: Imposter system gained international recognition and Joseph Federico of NJ has received numerous invitations to speak at industry events in China, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Israel, and Europe. He has also written more than a dozen articles on electronic testing for the industry. This Patented program has helped in the developments of many Risk Mitigation Program in The Electronics Industry.
Personal Life and Philanthropic Efforts
Faith and community service have always been prominent parts of Joseph’s life. He is currently Church lector, Eucharistic Minister, and was a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Instructor for more than 18 years, and continues to be an active member of his church. He also spends free time participating in charity drives, walk-a-thons, and fundraising dinners. In a personal capacity he regularly donates to the American Red Cross, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the March of Dimes, Eva’s Kitchen and Oasis woman Heaven.
His philanthropy extends into his professional career and Joseph Federico of NJ has encouraged NJMET to participate in several local, national, and international charitable efforts. NJMET offers an annual scholarship to a local high school senior pursuing a career in STEM field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics
and the company recently hosted and completed a successful Holiday Toy Drive for Oasis: a Haven for Women and Children in Paterson, NJ.
Joseph Federico of NJ hopes his life of service inspires others to take up charitable causes whenever possible and that other companies recognize the need for corporate social responsibility. In his spare time he cheers for the New York Giants, Yankees, and Rangers, attends Broadway productions, and enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.
