Funding Infrastructure for Prosperity, Sustainability & Equity
Many communities are challenged by the need to boost employment and affordable housing while simultaneously reducing traffic congestion, pollution and general tax burdens. At the same time, funding is scarce for essential infrastructure investments.
On the other hand, when some communities invest in infrastructure, resulting inflation in land prices near the new infrastructure can displace intended beneficiaries and push development to cheaper, but more remote sites. This is part of the engine that drives sprawl.
Some communities are successfully employing "value capture" techniques to resolve these challenges. The webinar helps people understand the political and economic forces that generate these problems along with how to use these forces to help resolve them.
Rick Rybeck, Director of Just Economics LLC, is an accomplished speaker who can explain these issues and techniques in language that is easily understood by government officials and the general public.
